What We Do

The Institute for Future Cities focuses on improving the quality of human life in cities across the world.

Future Cities is one of the University of Strathclyde’s key research themes. The Institute for Future Cities is the University’s centre for research and teaching that integrates and catalyses expertise across sectors and multiple disciplines.

Our aim is to enable current and future cities to be understood in new ways. We do this through research and partnerships with commercial organisations, local and national government, from all subject areas and from across the world.

Our focus areas are:

  • Resilience
  • Wellbeing
