EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

Building on our partnerships within Africa, we are keen to engagge with other academic and commercial partners to help create a research netowrk explroing African cities. The focus will be on a ‘holistic’ approach to undertaking urban research, knitting together insights from sector-focussed research on problems such as energy, pollution, or transport. Viewing the cities as ‘ecoystems’, the emphasis is on how underlying political economy factors can link together a series of problems. The network is likely to include research conducted on :

  • concflict resolution and democratic government
  • digital government and citizen participation
  • entrepreneurship and economic inclusion
  • natural resource management and resilience

We would welcome expressions of interests from potential partners and to have the opportunity to discuss contributions further. Contact for this programme is Ricahrd Bellingham –
